There are dozens perhaps a hundred or so tents which have been put up today. They've arrivedtoday. Some food has arrived. Some blankets have arrived. As families, women and childrensitting on open hillsides where they spent the night, they didn't have much to eat or to drink. Two government ministers who have spoken to a series of government officials who've beenhere say that it’s very unlikely that any of the body to be found. Indeed by today, peoplehave been given up digging for body. Yesterday, they were digging. But they realized that itwas hopeless.
I mean, earlier local officials have been talking about 2000 people feared dead. Is the figurereally gonna be that high?
I don’t think you know, we may ever have a total of the number of people. We are talking about370 families.I think what we were hearing from the provincial government yesterday when theincident first happened, 350 houses destroyed, that’s around 2.5 thousand people. And thatis probably the sort of death toll that we are talking about.
As of last night, David, the Afghan government haven't asked for any internationalassistance. Has it changed its position? And if not, why not?

In a dark cinema projection room in Berlin, a black-and-white film is spinning just like it did 80years ago. It is very well made and well acted.
20 years ago or so, people would have been more frightened to see these films in public.
