32課 Shopping made easy

People are not so honest as they once were.Thetempatation to steal is greater than ever before --especially in large shops.A detective recentlywatched a well-dressed women who always went intoa large store on Monday mornings.OneMonday,there were fewer people in the shopthan usual when the woman camein,so it waseasier for the detective to watch her. Thewoman first boughta few small articles.Afteralittle time,she chose one of the most expensivedresses in the shop and handed it to an assistant who wrapped it up for her as quicklyas possible.Then the woman simply took the parcel and walked out of the shop withoutpaying.When she was arrested,the detective found out thatthe shop assistant was herdaughter.The girl 'gave' her mother a free dress once a week!

4、One Monday, there were fewer people in the shop than usual when the womancame in, so itwas easier for the detective to watch her.

有一個(gè)星期一，這個(gè)女人來到商場(chǎng)時(shí)商場(chǎng)里的人：比平時(shí)要少，因此便于偵探監(jiān)視。

語言點(diǎn)1 本句中when弓|導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句，so連接并列分句。

語言點(diǎn)2 one和a / an的用法比較：

1) a/an是冠詞，用在單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞前。

2) one是數(shù)詞，強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)量是一個(gè)。

3) 在習(xí)慣用法中經(jīng)常用one代替a/an。

如：one evening—個(gè)晚上;one word—個(gè)單詞;one Tuesday—個(gè)星期二

語言點(diǎn)3 few指不多的幾個(gè)，fewer... than usual意為“比平時(shí)還要少”。

Please try to make fewer mistakes.請(qǐng)盡量少犯錯(cuò)。

5、The woman first bought a few small articles.

這個(gè)女人首先買了一些小商品。

語言點(diǎn) a few small articles幾件小物品

6、After a little time, she chose one of the most expensive dresses in the shop andhanded it to an assistant who wrapped it up for her as quickly as possible.

過了一小會(huì)兒，她選了一件商場(chǎng)里最貴的衣服，把它遞給售貨員，售貨員以最快的速度 給她包了起來。

語言點(diǎn)1 本句中and連接并列謂語，其中又包含who引導(dǎo)的定語從句。

語言點(diǎn)2 the most expensive dresses + in the shop是典型的最高級(jí)結(jié)構(gòu)。

語言點(diǎn)3 a little time = a little while 一小會(huì)兒

語言點(diǎn)4 choose意為“選擇”，過去式為chose，過去分詞為chosen，現(xiàn)在分詞為choosing，名詞形式為choice。

He chooses to look into the matter till the truth is out.

他決定調(diào)查那件事直至真相大白。

語言點(diǎn)5 常用“動(dòng)詞+ up”的短語：

wrap up包起來

stand up站起來

wake up醒過來

save up儲(chǔ)蓄

shut up 閉嘴
