David:Is it common for university students to havepast-time jobs?
You:Yes. It is very common.
David:What kind of jobs do they usually have?
You:They normally have jobs like tutors. How about the United States? How is it like forstudents there?
David:It is also common for university students to have part-time jobs, but not so much astutors. Many university students work on campus. For example, some students work in thelibrary, school store or dining hall. But some also work off campus as waiters or waitressed atlocal restaurants.
You:I heard it is a cinch for students in the US to find a job in college because the schooloffers many opportunities on campus. But in China, not all colleges have campus jobs forstudents.
David:So where do students get jobs?
You: Students look for job oppertunities in society. And for those students who come frompoor families, they have to earn their own bread and butter. They have to find any job, even itisn't their interesting.
David:Did you have a job?
You:Yes, I had a job I worked for three years as a tutor. Studying English can give you moreopportunities towards finding a job such as being a tutor. If you learn English, you can be aprimary school teacher and tutor little children. So it is easier for English majors to find parttime jobs.
David:Studying English does open doors.
