David：Why are KFC and McDonalds so popular here in China?

為什么肯德基和麥當(dāng)勞在中國(guó)這么受歡迎?

You：I think many people like the ambiance in this kind of restaurants.

我覺(jué)得是因?yàn)槿藗兒芟矚g快餐店那種氣氛。

David：People in the US usually describe fine dining restaurants as having ambiance, but notfast food joints.

美國(guó)人通常認(rèn)為只有在上檔次的飯店才會(huì)有氣氛，而在快餐店里是找不到什么氣氛的。

You：But maybe they are only considered fast food restaurants in foreign countries. In China,many young people feel a modern ambiance when dining in McDonalds, KFC and other westernfast food restaurants.

在西方國(guó)家，肯德基和麥當(dāng)勞只被認(rèn)為是快餐而已。而在中國(guó)，許多年輕人覺(jué)得能在肯德基，麥當(dāng)勞或是其他的西式快餐館吃飯是挺現(xiàn)代的事。

David：But the food is very different from Chinese food. Do people think it really tastes good?

西式快餐和中餐完全不同，人們真的覺(jué)得西式快餐好吃嗎?

You：Some people think it is tasty, but some don't.

有些人覺(jué)得好吃，另外一些人就不覺(jué)得好吃。

David：It is a different style of eating also. Most fast food comes packaged for individualconsumption. Although you may go with friends to a fast food restaurant, people usually orderfor themselves and do not share food. Sharing food over dinner is the typical custom in China.Do people mind?

快餐的吃法也與中餐不同。多數(shù)快餐都是獨(dú)立包裝供個(gè)人消費(fèi)的。你可以同朋友一起去快餐店，但都是各點(diǎn)各的，各吃各的。中國(guó)人已經(jīng)習(xí)慣了同吃一桌菜，分開(kāi)的話他們不介意嗎?

You：People get used to it. However, to appeal to this Chinese custom, many of these placesare also offering family meal packages for groups of people. By the way, I'm curious aboutsomething. Could you tell me, does the food at KFC in China taste the same as the ones in theUS?

習(xí)慣了。但有些地方為了迎合中國(guó)的飲食習(xí)慣，也提供一些家庭裝的快餐。另外，我想知道中國(guó)的肯德基和美國(guó)的肯德基味道一樣嗎?

Divid:I would have a guess. It would be the same, since it is the same company. But now as Ithink about it, I think the KFC tastes better in the U.S.

要我說(shuō)，味道應(yīng)該是一樣的，因?yàn)樗鼈冸`屬于同一家公司。但是現(xiàn)在就我的經(jīng)驗(yàn)來(lái)看，美國(guó)的肯德基味道更好。
