On the last day of kindergarden, all the children brought presents for their teacher.
最后一天上幼兒園,孩子們都給老師帶來(lái)了禮物。
The florist's son handed the teacher a gift. She held it up and said, "I bet I know what it is--it's some flowers!"
花店老板的兒子遞給老師一包禮物,老師拿起來(lái)說(shuō):“我打賭我知道這是什么——這是鮮花!”
"That's right!" shouted the little boy.
“對(duì)啦!”小男孩大聲說(shuō)。
Then the candy store owner's daughter handed the teacher a gift. She held it up, shook it andsaid, "I bet I know what it is--it's a box of candy!"
接下來(lái),糖果店老板的女兒遞給老師一盒禮物。老師接過(guò)來(lái),晃了晃說(shuō):“我猜我知道這里面是什么——這是一盒糖果!”
"That's right!" shouted the little girl.
“沒(méi)錯(cuò)!”小女孩叫道。
The next gift was from the liquor store owner's son, little Johnny. The teacher held it up andsaw that it was leaking. She touched a drop with her finger and tasted it. "Is it wine?" sheasked.
再下面,酒店老板的兒子小約翰尼給老師送上了一盒禮物。老師接過(guò)來(lái),看到時(shí)而有些液體漏了出來(lái)。她用手指沾了一滴,嘗了嘗,問(wèn)道:“這是葡萄酒嗎?”
"No," littlt Johnny answered.
“不是,”小約翰尼說(shuō)。
The teacher touched another drop to her tongue. "Is it champagne?" she asked.
老師又用手指沾了一滴,嘗了嘗,問(wèn)道:“是香檳嗎?”
"No," he answered.
“不是,”小約翰尼又說(shuō)。
Finally, the teacher said, "I give up. What is it?"
老師終于放棄了,說(shuō):“我猜不出了,這里面是什么?”
Little Johnny replied, "A puppy!"
小約翰尼答道:“是一只小狗!”
