英語小達人每天10分鐘 122 Pirate Ship
第25單元 海盜船
Nick grabbed his bag and looked around for his boat. He didn't know which one was his. There weere only two left at the dock. This one must be it, he thought to himself as he quickly boarded the old ship. He got a new job shrimp fishing and today was his first day.
尼克抓起他的旅行袋，到處找他的船。船塢上只剩兩艘船，他不知道哪一艘才是他的。一定是這艘了，他邊想便迅速地登上那艘舊船。他找到一份捕蝦的新工作，今天則是他第一天出海。
It was a strange looking fishing boat. He didn't see any nets. Nor did he see any fish. He looked up and saw a black flag with a skull on it. "Oh, no!!" thought Nick. "I am on a pirate ship."
這艘漁船看起來怪怪的，他既沒有看到漁網也沒有看到任何魚。他抬頭一看，結果看到一面印著骷髏的黑旗。哦，天啊!尼克心想，我上海盜船了。
Just then the captain came out. He was an ugly man with only one eye. "So, we have astowaway," said the captain. "No, I want to be a fisherman," said Nick, "I got on the wrong boat. Please let me off."
就在那時船長出現了，是個丑陋的獨眼龍。“看來我們有偷渡客了，”船長說：“你想當海盜嗎?”“不， 我想當漁夫，”尼克說：“我上錯船了，請饒了我吧。”
"ARRR," said the pirate, "You must walk the plank if you want to get off this boat." Nick didn't know what to do. They were already far out to sea. But he didn't want to be a pirate so he walked to the edge of the plank and jumped.
“呵呵，”船長說“如果你想下船，就從這塊板子上走過去。”尼克不曉得該怎么辦。他們已經離海岸很遠了，可是他又不想當一名海盜;于是他走到板子邊緣，縱身跳進海里。
He swam until another boat picked him up and saved his life.
他一直游著，知道別的船只把他救起來才撿回一條命。
