第15單元 兩個(gè)農(nóng)夫
A Texan farmer goes into Australia for a vacation. There he meets an Aussie farmer and gets talking.
有個(gè)德州農(nóng)夫去澳洲度假時(shí)遇見一個(gè)澳洲農(nóng)夫,兩人攀談了起來。
The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the Texan says,"Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large."
那個(gè)澳洲人像他炫耀他那一大片小麥田,結(jié)果德州農(nóng)夫說:“哎呀!我們那里的小麥田起碼比你的大兩倍。”
Then they walk around the ranch a little, and the Aussie shows off his herd of cattle. The Texan immediately says,
接著他們又逛了一下農(nóng)場(chǎng),澳洲人又炫耀起他的牛群,德州人馬上說:
"We have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your cows."
“我們那里的長(zhǎng)牛角起碼比你的牛大兩倍。”
The conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of kangaroos hopping through the field. He asks,"And what are those?"
說著說著,德州人看到一群袋鼠在農(nóng)場(chǎng)上跳來跳去,一時(shí)不知道講什么,于是問道:“那些是什么東西?”
The Aussie replies with an incredulous look,"Don't you have any grasshoppers in Taxas?"
澳洲人一副難以置信的表情,回答道:“怎么,你們德州都沒有蚱蜢嗎?”
