1. 解詞釋義

我們漢語(yǔ)中有句話(huà)是“打開(kāi)天窗說(shuō)亮話(huà)。”在英語(yǔ)中也有一個(gè)類(lèi)似的表達(dá)：put one’s card on the table。其意思和中文的“攤牌”非常相似。用來(lái)表示“有什么事情直說(shuō)，公開(kāi)談?wù)?，擺在桌面上來(lái)攤牌，把自己的打算全盤(pán)拖出”的意思。其英文解釋為：be open and honest, reveal one’s position or intentions, to becompletely straightforward and open, conceal nothing。

2. 拓展例句

e.g. We can only reach agreement if we both put our card on the table.

我們雙方只有攤開(kāi)來(lái)說(shuō)才能達(dá)成協(xié)議。

e.g. Perhaps you will make some progress if you put your card on the table.
