To lend is to give someone something for a short time—you expect to get this back.

借可不是白借的哦，借給別人一小段時(shí)間還是要還回來(lái)的。

So you should only lend something to a friend.

所以你要借給你的朋友，因?yàn)槟阒浪麄兪匦庞?，不?huì)耽誤你使用東西。

And don’t confuse this with borrow. You lend to someone， you borrow from someone.

大家要注意borrow和lend的不同用法，borrow表示你跟他借，lend表示他借給你，還要注意后面的介詞，borrow后面要跟from，lend要跟to。
