女：“We’re having a potluck dinner.” it means everyone has to bring a dish. This is really common between college students， because they don’t have any money.

男：potluck就是每個(gè)人帶一個(gè)菜去，即簡(jiǎn)單又實(shí)惠。

女：If you say， “Would you like to come to dinner? It’s only potluck， but you’re welcome.”

男：家里沒(méi)什么好吃的，不太好意思邀請(qǐng)朋友來(lái)做客吧?

女： That means， you can come over， but I’m sorry， I don’t have any good food to give you， so this is for good friends only.

男：和好朋友就可以友好地提出這種potluck dinner的邀請(qǐng)，像我這樣愛(ài)呼朋喚友的單身漢可一定得學(xué)會(huì)這個(gè)詞哦。
