(無(wú)音)Apollo was the son of Zeus who was the father of gods and human. He is called "sun-god". During the day Apollo drove his carriage of gold and ivory across the sky and spread light, life and love to the great world below. At dust he finished his journey in the far western sea and returned to his eastern home in his golden boat. (無(wú)音)

宙斯統(tǒng)治著眾神和人類，阿波羅是宙斯之子。他被稱做是"太陽(yáng)神"。白天，阿波羅駕駛著用金子和象牙作成的車子穿越天空，給人間帶來(lái)光明、生命和仁愛(ài)。黃昏的時(shí)候，他在遙遠(yuǎn)的西海結(jié)束了旅行，乘著金船返回到東方的家中;

Apollo was the god of music and poetry. He could inspire [1] all feelings expressed in hymns[2].With his gold lyre[3] and his sweet voice he led the choir of the Muses.

阿波羅是月神和詩(shī)神。他能夠激發(fā)出人們?cè)谑ジ柚斜磉_(dá)的各種情感;他手拿金里拉，用悅耳的聲音指揮著繆斯女神的合唱隊(duì)。

The music from his lyre was so wonderful that stones marched into their own places in rhythmic time when he helped Poseidon[4] build up the walls of Troy.

當(dāng)他幫助波塞冬建造特洛伊城墻時(shí)，里拉彈奏的聲音太美妙了，以致于石頭都有節(jié)奏的自動(dòng)地各就其位。

Appollo stood for[5] youth and manly beauty.His golden hair and magnific manner made him very attractive.

阿波羅象征著青春和陽(yáng)剛之美。他金色的頭發(fā)和莊重的神態(tài)使他非常具有非凡的魅力。

According to Greek mythology, A beautiful girl named Clytie was so fascinated at him that she knelt on the ground from dawn to dusk, staring at Apollo's golden-wheeled carriage racing across the blue sky. Though Apollo didn't give her a look, she never changed her love for Apollo. The gods were deeply touched and changed her into a sunflower.

據(jù)希臘神話記載，有一個(gè)叫"克里提"的美麗少女非常迷戀阿波羅，從黎明到黃昏，她都跪在地上，深情凝視著阿波羅的金制馬車在天空中馳騁。盡管阿波羅從未看過(guò)她一眼，但她對(duì)阿波羅的愛(ài)卻從未改變。眾神為她的癡情所深深打動(dòng)，將她變成了一株向日葵。

注釋：

1.想“激發(fā)、激勵(lì)”人們做什么事情，就用此處出現(xiàn)的inspire吧!

如果你在失敗后，重新振作起來(lái)，就可以說(shuō)

The failure inspired me to greater efforts.

“失敗激發(fā)我做出更多的努力”。

我們平時(shí)常說(shuō)的"產(chǎn)生靈感"，用inspire是最恰當(dāng)?shù)谋磉_(dá)了，如果在介紹某位音樂(lè)家時(shí)，說(shuō)到His best music was inspired by natural scenery. 就是告訴你說(shuō):

“他最好的音樂(lè)是從自然景色中激發(fā)出靈感的”;

2.hymn: 圣歌、贊美詩(shī)

3.lyre:(古希臘的)七弦豎琴，里拉琴

4.Poseidon: 波塞冬，希臘神話中的手持三叉矛的海神

5.stand for 表示“象征、代表、意味著”，如果有人問(wèn)你：

What does MS. Stand for?

(MS.代表什么?)，

你就回答說(shuō)：

It's for manuscript.

(它代表manuscript“手稿”)
