The former Bachelorette contestant, 36, welcomed his first baby with Dre Joseph, he shared on Instagram late Wednesday.

Booth published a picture of the baby's feet on his Instagram Story. "Baby Booth arrived yesterday and is healthy & perfect," he captioned the post.

"Mom is an absolute rockstar & did incredible!" he continued. "Everything went super smooth and we couldn't be more grateful. Best feeling in the world."

In July, Booth and Joseph chatted with PEOPLE about welcoming their baby on the way, sharing exclusive photos of the pair together for the first time, which featured Joseph's baby bump.

"If you know me at all, you know I have always wanted to be a dad [and] becoming a first-time dad fulfills that lifelong dream," Booth told PEOPLE of the exciting news. "As I prepare to embrace this new chapter, I'm filled with profound gratitude and eagerness to cherish and nurture this precious life."

"She is a very loving and resilient woman and with her by our child's side, I know they'll be guided by a force of nature [that's] nurtured by a heart of compassion. Our kid is already incredibly lucky to have her as a mom," Booth said of Joseph.

Agreeing with Booth, Joseph added, "I think Shawn describes it perfectly when he says, 'It's the most beautiful surprise of our lives.' It's true. I've always had the desire to be a mom."

"I come from a family of four kids and lots of cousins so I've always wanted a big family as well! And though this may not have been the exact plan, I feel extremely fortunate to be going through this process with Shawn by my side," said the photographer.

Booth previously announced that he was expecting his first baby on his podcast "In the Booth with Shawn Booth," saying "I've dated since the show. I've dated a bunch of people. I've had a girlfriend...I've always just kept things private."

After noting that he had a "very big announcement," Booth shared that he was "going to be a dad."

"December 12, baby Booth on their way," he announced on the podcast. "It's happening. I'm going to be a father."
