職場口語中公認的一個難點就是向老板提加薪。不要說用英文求加薪了,就是用中文來講,也有很多技巧和要領(lǐng)要知道。今天就來告訴你加薪時如何巧妙開場,給老板“下套”。
先來看一個實例對話,幫助大家迅速進入“求加薪”的狀態(tài):
Ryan: Hi Jacob, thanks for taking the time to meet with me.
Jacob: No problem, Ryan. Why don't we get down to business?
Ryan: Right. Well, as you know I've been a salesman here in Unix for 2 years now and I've been really happy here. I've learned a lot from the sales team and there's great camaraderie with the staff.
Why don't we...Why not...? 這個句型很多同學誤以為是用來問原因,所以每次都是用because...來作答。實際上,絕大多數(shù)情況下,這是for making a suggestion, signalling that he is ready to discuss the pay raise directly.
這一段Ryan是在表決心,demonstrate his loyalty to the company, 為下面的加薪討論鋪墊。下面給出一些其他的求加薪的開場方式,供大家參考:

求加薪時,其他需要注意的事項:
Asking for a raise requires preparation, skill, timing and a fallback plan. It also demands wrapping your mind around a basic fact many employees miss: A pay increase is based on performance and the market for your skills.
大多數(shù)人對于關(guān)鍵對話的本能是避而不談,所以很少職場人士,尤其職場新人知道如何討論加薪。公開課上有位小女生表示如果是她會選擇在KTV里跟老板談加薪的事情,因為覺得這樣能夠減少尷尬。這當然取決于個人的溝通習慣,跟老板的關(guān)系等,不過95%以上的加薪會談都應(yīng)該預(yù)約好時間,在辦公室進行。
