JESSICA: Hey 怡茹，how's it going?

YR: Oh, hey JESSICA..我...我好困阿...困死我了...

JESSICA: Didn't you sleep well last night?

YR: Sleep well? 我壓根就沒(méi)睡!!! 我男朋友昨天拉著我陪他去買(mǎi)iPhone 4S, 可現(xiàn)在這最新的iPhone特?fù)屖? 對(duì)了，JESSICA，這種大家都想要的搶手貨用美語(yǔ)怎么說(shuō)?。?br />
JESSICA: You can say it sells like hotcakes. Hotcakes is spelled h-o-t-c-a-k-e-s, hotcakes. If you say something sells like hotcakes, it means it is sold quickly and in large numbers.

YR: 沒(méi)錯(cuò)! The new iPhone 4S sold like hotcakes! 新的iPhone 4S 絕對(duì)是搶手貨!

JESSICA: There's actually another way of saying it, you can say: the new iPhone 4S is flying off the shelf! Shelf is spelled s-h-e-l-f, shelf, 是貨架的意思。Fly off the shelf, 就是說(shuō)一件東西賣(mài)得特別好。

YR: 店員還特別告訴我們，當(dāng)天晚上他們會(huì)進(jìn)新貨，建議我們半夜就去排隊(duì)，這樣就能保證一大早開(kāi)門(mén)的時(shí)候買(mǎi)到最新的iPhone了...所以我們大半夜就搬著小椅子守在蘋(píng)果店門(mén)口....

JESSICA: Camp, c-a-m-p, 是露營(yíng)的意思，camp out means that you stay outdoors all night in front of the store! 也可以說(shuō)是露營(yíng)!

YR: 哈哈，沒(méi)錯(cuò)! 我們就好像去露營(yíng)一樣，在蘋(píng)果店門(mén)口呆了整整一夜! 這種事只有我男朋友這種科技發(fā)燒友才干得出來(lái)!

JESSICA: 看來(lái)你男朋友還真是個(gè)tech-head! Tech是technology的簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)，tech-head 腦袋里全是tech，就是科技發(fā)燒友!

YR: Totally! My boyfriend is such a tech-head!

JESSICA: 好，言歸正傳，說(shuō)說(shuō)你今天都學(xué)到了什么!

YR: 第一：形容一件東西搶手說(shuō)something sells like hotcakes, 或者 something is flying off the shelf.

第二：為買(mǎi)東西通宵露營(yíng)，叫camp out;

第三：科技發(fā)燒友是tech-head.
