[00:03.64]Treasure Starfish 珍貴的海星
[00:07.17]Once upon a time there was a wise man
[00:10.12] who used to go to the ocean to do his writing.
[00:13.48]He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.
[00:18.00]One day he was walking along the shore.
[00:21.00] As he looked down the beach,
[00:23.22]he saw a human figure moving like a dancer.
[00:26.39] He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the day.
[00:31.10] So he began to walk faster to catch up.
[00:34.70]As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man
[00:38.65]and the young man wasn’t dancing,
[00:40.77]but instead he was reaching down to the shore,
[00:44.00] picking up something and very gently throwing it into the ocean.
[00:48.32]As he got closer he called out,
[00:50.63]“Good morning! What are you doing?”
[00:53.35]The young man paused, looked up and replied,
[00:57.00] “Throwing starfish in the ocean.”
[00:59.58]“I guess I should have asked, why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?”
[01:04.13]“The sun is up, and the tide is going out.
[01:07.02]And if I don’t throw them in they’ll die.”
[01:09.97]“But, young man, don’t you realize that there are miles and miles of beach,
[01:14.90] and starfish all along it?
[01:16.86] You can’t possibly make a difference!”
[01:19.30]The young man listened politely, then bent down,
[01:23.65] picked another starfish and threw it into the sea,
[01:26.71] past the breaking waves and said,
[01:28.91] “It made a difference for that one.”
[01:31.52]There is something very special in each and every one of us.
[01:35.57] We have all been gifted with the ability to make a difference.
[01:39.40] And if we can become aware of that gift,
[01:42.57]we gain through the strength of our visions the power to shape the future.
[01:47.00] We must each find our starfish.
[01:50.23]And if we throw our stars wisely and well,
[01:53.52]the world will be blessed.
