In Chinese tradition, the red envelopes are mostly going to the young who have not married .However, thanks to this new way, the elders can also receive the red envelopes. What's more, the cost of the envelopes is very low. Maybe you send 100 envelopes by Wechat which are only worthy one Yuan, but you send the New Year wishes to 100 people. Imagine how happy you will be then. In the way, many people say robbing the red envelopes adds to the atmosphere of Spring Festival.
Apparently, there are also many people who don't regard this new activity as a good thing. Because many participants have been addicted to robbing the envelopes, even being with their parents. It's a fact that they don't always accompany their parents because of busy study or work. Only in Spring Festival is there enough time to be together. But they waste the time on the mobile phones. It's unfair for their parents caring about them very much.
