Most of us would like to have a place of our own. When we leave home and set out on our careers, a sense of freedom comes with this. This must be measured against the pressures of finding a place to live in. Many people are unaware of how to rent an apartment. Some do not know how to look for a house for rent or how to read and negotiate a rental contract. They need to know how to pay the rent and when this rent money is due each month. They should inquire if the water and electricity fee is included in the rent or if it is something they should pay separately. Special requests should be worked out as well with the landlord so that problems do not occur in the future. This could be as simple as whether it is allowed to have pets. Also who fixes problems that might occur must be determined. These are things that everyone should know before they rent an apartment. People should seek knowledge from family and friends so that problems can be avoided. The first experience of finding a new place to live in can be stressful and confusing. At the same time, it gives a sense of responsibility and freedom.

由whether或if引導(dǎo)的賓語從句
賓語從句除了常由that引導(dǎo)外,還可由從屬連詞if或whether引導(dǎo),表示“是否”,常放在動(dòng)詞ask, see, say, know, wonder和find out等之后。
I wonder whether/if he lives here.
Nobody knows whether/if it will rain tomorrow.
I don't know if/whether he has come here.
Tom asked if/ whether I had read the book.
2.if 和whether 的區(qū)別
I can't decide whether to stay.
(2)whether可構(gòu)成固定搭配 whether…or not。 如:
I want to know whether it's good news or not.
