not to speak of意為“不用說(shuō)”,相當(dāng)于not to mention。但是二者并不完全一樣:not to mention后面可以接句子,而not to speak of后面只能接名詞或名詞性短語(yǔ)。如:
We're too busy to take a long holiday this year, not to mention the fact that we can't afford it. 我們今年太忙,不能去度長(zhǎng)假,更何況我們也出不起這筆錢(qián)。
