俄羅斯藝術(shù)家以巨大的鼠屎雕塑迎接新年

A Russian artist has found an unorthodox way to celebrate the new year — by erecting statues out of cow poop. This year’s scatological sculpture is a rat comprised entirely of dung, an odiferous ode to the 2020 Chinese zodiac sign, Central European News reports.

Mikhail Bopposov from Uolba village, in Russia’s Sakha Republic, worked on the scat rat from mid-December to just before its unveiling on December 28. The cattle farmer then propped his manure magnum opus in an armchair in front of his home for all the village to see, even placing an empty chair beside it for those who want a front-row seat to the s - - t show.

And if that’s not a close enough view, spectators can even stand on the rank rodent, according to Bopposov. The region’s frigid temperatures have hardened the statue like a poop-sicle, preventing it from crumbling under body weight.

The excremental masterpiece is raising a stink on social media, prompting replies of “Doesn’t he understand that this way he is giving a ‘s - - tty’ image to the Republic?! Soon we’ll be associated with manure,” CEN reports.

However, others lauded the work. “Why should he care about image? It’s important that the man likes what he is doing,” one supporter posted. “People will always interpret things however they want.”

Despite the mixed reviews, Bopposov has rolled out turd tributes to Zodiac animals year after year. Some of his more notable works include a giant rooster, a 6.5-foot snake, and even a doo-doo dragon.
