一位老人在家中跌倒后,僅靠可口可樂(lè)就活了5天。
An elderly man had to survive five days on nothing but Coca-Cola — the only thing he could reach after he fell in the kitchen of his Arlington home and was unable to get back up, according to local reports.
據(jù)阿靈頓當(dāng)?shù)孛襟w報(bào)道,一位老年人只靠可口可樂(lè)活了五天,可口可樂(lè)是他摔倒在廚房里后,唯一能夠到的東西。
It wasn’t until the local mail carrier noticed his correspondence piling up that police and paramedics were summoned and rescued Glenn Smith, WUSA-TV reported.
據(jù)Wusa-TV報(bào)道,直到當(dāng)?shù)剜]遞員注意到他的信件堆積如山,報(bào)警后,警察和醫(yī)護(hù)人員才趕到并救出格倫·史密斯。
“His door had been open a couple of day-s and (the mail carrier) noticed the mail hadn’t been moved,” neighbor Jared Agnew told ARLnow.
“他的門(mén)開(kāi)了幾天,(郵遞員)注意到郵件卻沒(méi)有動(dòng)過(guò)。”鄰居在接受記者采訪(fǎng)時(shí)表示。
Smith was transported to Virginia Hospital Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

“We were horrified and shocked but we were really happy to hear about the Coke, that he could keep himself, you know, alive and okay until help came,” next door neighbor Christen Bensten told the station.
隔壁鄰居克里斯滕·本斯滕告訴記者:“我們都很震驚,但我們真的很高興聽(tīng)到可樂(lè)的事,他讓自己活著等到了救援。”
“I wish that we could have found out sooner so we could have been of help, but we’re certainly going to be here to support Glenn going forward,” she said.
她說(shuō):“我真的希望我們能早點(diǎn)知道真相,這樣我們就能早點(diǎn)幫他,現(xiàn)在我們希望格倫能早日恢復(fù)。”
