2016年12月大學英語四級翻譯預測：胡同

　　北京城的胡同長短不一，風格各異。最長的是東交民巷胡同，全長近3千米。最短的是一尺大街胡同，從頭到尾僅有25米。最寬的是靈境胡同，目前最寬處可達30多米。最窄的是錢市胡同，最窄處僅40厘米，需側身通過。彎道最多的是九灣胡同，彎曲之處(curves)不下13處,走在其中，很容易迷路。歷史最悠久的要數(shù)磚塔胡同，為元代胡同，至今已有700余年歷史。

　　Hutongs in Beijing have various styles and differentlengths. The longest one is DongjiaominxiangHutong, with a total length of about 3 kilometers.The shortest one is Yichidajie Hutong, with only 25meters from beginning to the end. The widest one is Lingjing Hutong, with the widest partreaching over 30 meters at present. The narrowest one is the Qianshi Hutong, and its narrowestpart is merely 40 centimeters wide; people must turn sideways to pass through it. 　　1.胡同:此處的“胡同”指的是北京特色之一，不能譯成bystreet等，直接使用漢語拼音hutong即可。

　　2.長度的表達:文中多處需要表達長度，a total lengthof,...from beginning to the end,...reaching...等詞的靈活使用會讓譯文不顯得單調乏味。

　　3.側身:即轉向側面，可譯為turn sideways。sideways為副詞，意為“向側面地，向一旁”。

　　4.彎道最多…很容易迷路:句子中前后分句的主語不一致，在翻譯時，要注意改成主語一致或者增添各分句的主語。
