2016年12月大學英語四級翻譯練習：煤炭

　　中國是全球最大的煤炭生產(chǎn)國和消費國。煤炭占中國能源消費(energy consumption)的很大一部分。在未來，煤炭在中國總體能源消費中所占的份額將有所減少。但煤炭消費仍將繼續(xù)呈絕對上升態(tài)勢。中國今天面臨著嚴峻的環(huán)境問題，而煤炭在造成空氣污染方面起了很大作用。盡管中國的煤炭資源很豐富，但 是我們應該開始尋找替代資源(substitute resources)。這樣不僅能造福環(huán)境，從長遠看也會換來經(jīng)濟回報。

　　2.但煤炭消費仍將繼續(xù)呈絕對上升態(tài)勢:“呈絕對上升態(tài)勢”可翻譯為rise in absolute terms。

　　3.這樣不僅能造福環(huán)境，從長遠看也會換來經(jīng)濟回報:“不僅…也 not only...but also…來表達;“造福”可翻譯為benefit;“經(jīng)濟回報”可翻譯為economic payoff。
