　　英語中一種修飾法——以部分代整體，稱為“提喻”。A set of wheels是一套車輪的意思，比喻為“車子”的意思。

　　像這樣的用法很多，例如：Two heads are better than one. (三個(gè)臭皮匠，頂個(gè)諸葛亮。)Great mindthink alike. (英雄所見略同)其中的head和mind均以人體的某部分來代表“人”這個(gè)一整體。

　　A: I don’t know why I get a stage fright when Ispeak to a large crowd of people.

　　B: That’s the case with many people.
