General Information 基本概況

Fuzhou University is a state key university selected for inclusion in the national“Project 21 1”.Founded in 1958，the University has developed into one of China's excellent universities，distinguishing itself initially as a centre of science and engineering. Today，the University also has a reputation for excellence in other fields including economics and management，arts and design，law and liberal arts，etc.

福州大學(xué)是國家“211工程”重點建設(shè)大學(xué)，創(chuàng)建于1958年，現(xiàn)已發(fā)展成為一所以工為主，理、工、經(jīng)、管、文、法、藝多學(xué)科協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展的大學(xué)。

Fuzhou University is located in the historic city，F(xiàn)uzhou，in Fujian Province which is situated along the southeast coast of China. The old and new campuses cover an area of more than 333.5 hectares with over 1 million of floor space.

福州大學(xué)位于中國東南沿海福建省的歷史名城福州市，四個校區(qū)共占地333. 5公頃，建筑面積100余萬平方米。

At present, the University comprises 21 colleges. There is one chemistry postdoctoral research station，4 first-rank doctoral degree programs，30 second-rank doctoral degree programs，14 first-rank master's degree programs，93 master's degree programs，3 professional master degree specialties of MBA( Master of Business Administration)，JM(Jurisprudence Master) and Master of Engineering，and sixty-one bachelor's degree programs. In addition，the University has 1 state key discipline，1 state Excellent Course，5 national“Project 211”key disciplines，1 national base for the basic scientific research and the training of the talented teachinc personnel and 23 provincial key disciplines.

學(xué)校設(shè)有21個學(xué)院。一個化學(xué)博士后流動站，4個一級學(xué)科博士點，30個二級學(xué)科博士點，14個一級學(xué)科碩士點，93個碩士點，3個專業(yè)學(xué)位授權(quán)點，即工商管理碩士(MBA )、法律碩士(JM、和工程碩士(含14個工程領(lǐng)域),61個本科專業(yè)。學(xué)校還擁有一個國家重點學(xué)科，一門國家級精品課程，5個國家級“211工程”重點建設(shè)學(xué)科，一個“全國理科基礎(chǔ)科學(xué)研究和教學(xué)人才培養(yǎng)基地”,23個省級重點學(xué)科，

Now the University has an enrollment of over 32 000 full-time students，amonc which there are more than; 3 900 graduate students for doctoral and master's degree. Besides，the University has over 7 000 students belonging to independent colleges and over 6 000 students of adult education. Since its foundation，the University has trained more that 64 000 students with doctoral，master or bachelor degrees. The University has been approved by the Ministry of Education to offer undergraduate and graduate programs to students from Hong Kong，Macao，Taiwan regions and foreign countries.

目前在校全日制學(xué)生32 000多名，其中博士、碩士研究生3 900多名，另有獨立建制學(xué)院學(xué)生7 000余名，成人教育學(xué)歷類學(xué)生6 000多名。建校以來，已為國家培養(yǎng)了博士、碩士研究生、本?？飘厴I(yè)生64 000余名。學(xué)校為國家教育部批準(zhǔn)可招收外國和港、澳、臺地區(qū)本科生、研究生的高校。

The University has the total of 3 300 faculty members，including over 1 700 fulltime teachers and researchers，over 700 full and associate professors，3 academiclans of the Chinese Academy of Engineering，8 nationally accredited experts with outstanding contributions，4 winners of National Outstanding Youth Foundation，32 provincial accredited experts with outstanding contributions，4 specially invited professors of“Minjiang River Scholar Program"，6 teachers selected by national“Millions of Talents Program”，48 teachers selected by provincial“Millions of Talents Program"，120 doctor supervisors and 105 recipients of special subsidies from the central government.

現(xiàn)有教職工3 30U多名，專任教師、專職科研人員1 700多名，教授、副教授等高級職稱人員700余名，其中中國工程院院士3名(含雙聘院士2名)，國家級突出貢獻(xiàn)專家8名，國家杰出青年科學(xué)基金獲得者4名，省級有突出貢獻(xiàn)專家和優(yōu)秀專家犯名，閩江學(xué)者計劃特聘教授4名，國家“百千萬人才工程”第一、第二層次人選6名，省“百千萬人才工程”人選48名，博士生導(dǎo)師120名，享受政府特殊津貼專家105名。

The library holds over t . 97 million volumes of books，over 700 000 electric books and over 200 thousand newspapers and periodicals. More than 100 full-text databases in Chinese language and foreign languages，such as EI and CA，are available in the library. The computer network in the university is used as the main connection of Chinese Education and Scientific Research Network in Fujian Province as well as the network center for Fuzhou City. In November，1995，the university computer network was connected with the National Science Education Network and the INTERNET. Free access to Internet resources at home and abroad is now availabie in the university

校圖書館藏書197余萬冊，電一子圖一書70余萬冊，20余萬種報刊雜志，并引進(jìn)EI、CA等中外全文數(shù)據(jù)庫近百種;校計算機網(wǎng)作為中國教育和科研計算機網(wǎng)福建省網(wǎng)主節(jié)點和福州網(wǎng)絡(luò)中心，已尹19.s年1t月與國家教科網(wǎng)及INTEf}NET聯(lián)網(wǎng)，并免費開放對國內(nèi)外網(wǎng)絡(luò)資源的訪問。
