休閑對話：門當(dāng)戶對才會(huì)有愛情——《簡?愛》

Jessica: I wish I could be as brave as Jane.

我希望我可以像簡那樣勇敢。

Rebecca: Jane? Who is this Jane BTW? I thought I was your best friend.

Jessica: Of course you are. I am reading Jane Eyre.

Rebecca: Oh. The other woman, Jane?

那個(gè)小三，簡?

Jessica: Watch your tongue. She is a tough woman. And when she knew her man had married, she left right away.

注意以下自己的語氣。她是一個(gè)很堅(jiān)強(qiáng)的女人。而且當(dāng)她知道她所愛的人結(jié)過婚以后，她馬上離開了。

Rebecca: She left because of hatred. All women hate betrayal.

她離開了因?yàn)樵购蕖?所有的女人都憎恨背叛。

Jessica: Maybe she wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth. But she got courage to pursue true love, which was very difficult at the time of Charlotte.

可能她并不是出生在高貴家庭?？墒撬杏職馊ふ艺鎼?。這種勇氣在夏洛特時(shí)代是一件非常難得事情。

Rebecca: Spiritually, she was looking for true love. Don’t you agree with me that she left partly because she knew that her man wouldn’t actually elope with her? When Jane inherited her uncle’s fortune and her man’s wife died, they were a match economically.

精神上來說，她在尋找真愛。你不認(rèn)為她離開了，部分原因是他知道她所愛的男人不會(huì)跟她私奔?當(dāng)簡繼承了她叔叔的遺產(chǎn)以后，他們才經(jīng)濟(jì)基礎(chǔ)上對等。

Jessica: Come on. Are you saying that love is impossible without money? Don’t you have faith?

得了吧。你是說沒有經(jīng)濟(jì)基礎(chǔ)的愛情是不可能的?你沒有信仰嗎?

Rebecca: I do. I have faith in myself.

我有。我相信我自己。
