　　資深特工伊森·亨特(湯姆·克魯斯飾)也有百密一疏時(shí)刻，他在接收最新任務(wù)時(shí)遭到神秘組織“辛迪加”的暗算落入對(duì)方手中。辛迪加是一支由全球各地前特工組成的秘密組織，此前一直被CIA視為空穴來風(fēng)。在對(duì)方成員伊莎·福斯特(麗貝卡·弗格森飾)的幫助下，伊森逃出生天，并及時(shí)向威廉•布萊德匯報(bào)了辛迪加確切存在的消息。然而此時(shí)布萊德的日子并不好過，他負(fù)責(zé)的IMF機(jī)構(gòu)因俄羅斯核彈頭等事件遭到CIA指控并責(zé)令解散。在得知該組織密謀刺殺奧地利總統(tǒng)時(shí)，伊森聯(lián)系上了老搭檔班吉·鄧恩展開行動(dòng)，并與謎樣女郎伊莎再度相會(huì)。
