Visit your dentist every 6 months for a cleaning or check-up—or sooner, if these steps don't work. He or she can help figure out what's causing the problem and devise a treatment plan to get rid of it.
Certain medical conditions can cause bad breath, so your dentist might refer you to a doctor.

Use mouthwash, gum & mints

Use mouthwash, sugarless gum, or breath mints to help mask bad breath—but don't let that stop you from getting to the root of the problem. Your loved ones—and anyone else in striking distance—will thank you.
