Step 1: Act Now

Valentine's Day always falls on February the 14th, but as sales of fresh flowers double at this time it is wise to pre-book at least a week in advance. Leave it to the last minute and you may end up with a very expensive, yet disappointing arrangement. Or even worse - no flowers at all.

There are two options open to you here. The first is to browse the internet to find a delivery florist. The better companies will have photos to let you know what you are buying, you can complete the entire transaction over the internet or by phone. Although quick and efficient this method can give impersonal results.

兩種方式供你選擇。一種是網(wǎng)上花店，好的網(wǎng)上花店會提供鮮花圖片，直接使用網(wǎng)絡(luò)或視頻支付就可以全部完成。這種方式的缺點(diǎn)就是不夠人性化了。

The second option is to visit a good florist in you area and pre-book a bouquet. This allows you to see the quality of the flowers first hand, and add any personal touches such as a handwritten card.

第二種方式就是在附近區(qū)域的花店提前預(yù)定，這讓你真實體驗鮮花的感覺，而且還可以親手寫一張卡片代表心意。
 

Step 3: Decide on flowers
第三步：選鮮花

Select the variety of flowers you wish to send carefully. Red blooms signify romance and passion, white; purity, yellow denotes friendship and black farewell. So avoid the last two unless you want to cut your relationship short. Some people are funny about mixing red and white flowers together, as there is a superstition that this combination symbolises blood and bandages. Traditionally long stemmed roses are the way to go on Valentine's Day. It may not be original but it will get results.

Think carefully about the presentation. A hand-tied bouquet in coordinated wrappings will look so much better than a bunch held together with a rubber band and wrapped in cellophane.

Step 4: Where to send them
第四步：送哪里

Arrange to have the flowers sent to your love's home only if you are sure she is going to be in, otherwise it will be a wasted effort. Alternatively send them to your amore's workplace, this has the wow factor of letting everybody know how you feel and gives a romantic taster of things to come. Only do this if you are really confident your flowers will impress. Sending a sorry looking bunch of carnations might do you more harm than good.

Always make sure you compose a personal note on the card. Even if you are sending the flowers anonymously, leave a clue about who they could be from.
