What happens to a man who does not sleep? Peter Tripp decided to find out. He went without sleep for 200 hours. After 30 hours he found that his eyes began to play tricks on him. Chairs seemed to move by themselves. The floor looked like it, too, was moving. After about 100 hours Tripp could not do simple things. He could not remember the alphabet. After 150 hours he had trouble remembering his name. After 200 hours he went to sleep. When he woke up, he felt fine.
