It is generally believed that a good teacher should possess the following qualities．Firstly，he should be knowledgeable．A good teacher should not only know well about his subject but also have a wide variety of interests．Secondly，he should be devoted to his job．Thirdly，he should be kind，encouraging and helpful in teaching his students．

Now we have entered a new age，one called the era of information explosion．All teachers have to meet various challenges of this time as well as the increasing demands of their students．Faced with the new situation，an ideal teacher must be equipped with new qualities besides the basic ones．In the first place，he should keep on learning new things and keep pace with the advanced teaching concept and method．Only in this way can he be creative in thinking and in teaching．In the second place，he should be skillful in working on computers and make the best use of all the latest teaching equipment．With the up-to-date teaching aids，he can input more information in teaching and achieve a better teaching result．
