Nowadays，with the Shanghai dialect being threatened with extinction，more and more emphasis has been put on our invisible treasure．Thus，the suggestion has been put forward to set optional courses of Shanghai dialect in primary and secondary schools．With regard to the suggestion，I'm definitely a supporter for it will effectively bring the dialect under shelter and call for people's attention．

As far as I'm concerned，I'll surely add the optional course to schedule．First and foremost，the course will help me to have a better understanding of the culture of Shanghai．A citizen can hardly get the essence of the city without learning the local dialect any more than a farmer can have a good harvest without sweat．In the second place，chances are that I'll develop a good communication with my grandparents or the old of their age if I'm equipped with fluent Shanghai dialect．Undoubtedly，my present dialect level only gives birth to laughter and misunderstanding．Last but not least，the course is bound to play a vital role in arousing my responsibility，which just resemble the tender reeds that are easily drowned by the tide of modernization．

In a nutshell，in spite of the fact that the setting up of the Optional Course of Shanghai Dialect remains much to be desired，it will surely provide the treasure with protection．May our Shanghai Dialect stand the test of time and be passed on from generation to generation．
