Beijing has placed strict restriction on the number of newly purchased cars in the city and the policy has sparked heated discussion. Some people support the policy, saying it's a powerful method to cope with the severe traffic congestion in the capital. With cars increasing drastically in the past few years, severe traffic jams occur not only in rush hours but at any time of the day now.
北京已經(jīng)對市內(nèi)新購車輛的數(shù)量實(shí)施了嚴(yán)格的限制，這一政策引發(fā)了激烈的討論。一些人支持這一政策，認(rèn)為它是應(yīng)對首都嚴(yán)重交通擁堵的有力方法。隨著近幾年汽車數(shù)量的急劇增加，現(xiàn)在不僅是在高峰時(shí)段，而且是在一天中的任何時(shí)候都會(huì)出現(xiàn)嚴(yán)重的交通擁堵。
 
Others, however, are strongly against the limitations. They argue that the great number of official cars, which are frequently used, is a big factor causing traffic congestion. But the policy mainly aims at private cars and has no clear restrictions on the use of official cars. Besides, car purchase limitation would hinder the development of China's automobile industry, and more people would lose their jobs as a result.
然而，也有人強(qiáng)烈反對這一限制。他們認(rèn)為，大量頻繁使用的公務(wù)車是造成交通擁堵的一個(gè)重要因素。但該政策主要針對私家車，對公務(wù)車的使用沒有明確限制。此外，購車限制會(huì)阻礙中國汽車行業(yè)的發(fā)展，從而導(dǎo)致更多人失業(yè)。
 
Personally, I think the restriction of buying and use of cars, official cars included, is inevitable and just a matter of time for Beijing. If the number of cars is not limited, there will be a huge disaster for the environment, road resources, the travel demands of normal people and the improvement of living standards.
就我個(gè)人而言，我認(rèn)為北京限制購車和使用汽車（包括公務(wù)車）是不可避免的，只是時(shí)間問題。如果不限制汽車數(shù)量，將對環(huán)境、道路資源、普通人的出行需求和生活水平的提高造成巨大災(zāi)難。
