Security or Privacy?
In recent years，security cameras are installed in public places for the purpose of preventing and combating crimes. This phenomenon has sparked many debates. Most people welcome it and believe these cameras play a positive role in maintaining people’s security，while still some others think installing cameras infringe people’s privacy rights.
Those supporters maintain that installing cameras in public places，especially some key sites，can provide law enforcement agencies with criminal evidence. Moreover，they say that installation of cameras is a good deterrent to those with intentions of crimes. However，those protesting this practice claim that the government shouldn’t sacrifice millions of citizens’ privacy rights only for monitoring probably nonexistent crimes.
As to me，I prefer the former opinion. In my opinion，As far as public security situation is concerned，the installation of security cameras is quite necessary to maintaining citizens’ security. On the other hand，people needn’t feel uncomfortable for being monitored by a camera in public places since everything we do outside can be seen by some other people. To conclude，the advantages of installing cameras in public places much outweigh its disadvantages.
安全還是隱私?
近年來(lái)，為了預(yù)防和打擊犯罪，在公共場(chǎng)所安裝了安全攝像頭。這一現(xiàn)象引發(fā)了許多爭(zhēng)論。大多數(shù)人對(duì)此表示歡迎，認(rèn)為這些攝像頭在維護(hù)人們的安全方面發(fā)揮了積極作用，但仍有一些人認(rèn)為安裝攝像頭侵犯了人們的隱私權(quán)。
支持者認(rèn)為，在公共場(chǎng)所，特別是一些關(guān)鍵場(chǎng)所安裝攝像頭，可以為執(zhí)法機(jī)構(gòu)提供犯罪證據(jù)。此外，他們說(shuō)，安裝攝像頭對(duì)那些有犯罪意圖的人來(lái)說(shuō)是一種很好的威懾。然而，那些抗議這種做法的人聲稱，政府不應(yīng)該僅僅為了監(jiān)視可能不存在的犯罪而犧牲數(shù)百萬(wàn)公民的隱私權(quán)。
