Winner Culture
Americans believe in change. We are very sensitive to the idea that life can always be made better. An introspective person accepts things the way they are; but the active person makes changes. Therefore, one of the biggest compliments you can give someone is to say that they are "full of energy" in whatever they do.
A person contributes to society by doing the best he can. Americans look up to those who succeed on their own, the "self-made men", as heroes. Great American literature often praises the rebels, such as in the book, Huckleberry Finn and Walden. Frank Sinatra summed it up when he sang, "I did it my way", in one of his most popular songs.
