端淑卿（即端木淑卿），活動于明世宗嘉靖（1522～1566）前后。當涂（今屬安徽）人。曾祖父端宏（端木宏），字仲仁，號坦齋，曾任陜西按察司副使、山東按察使、浙江布政使等官職。

秋水茫茫帶白蘋，漁舟蟹網集湖濱。

長空入暮煙云起，只聽歌聲不見人。

Autumn waters vast and vague, belted by white duckgrass;

Fishing boats and crab nets crowd the lakeshore.

The great sky comes to twilight, mist and clouds rise;

I hear the sound of song, but see no one.
