地道英語(yǔ)：我徹底“崩潰”了

Jessia在北京學(xué)中文，她的中國(guó)朋友要是遇到了不知道用美語(yǔ)怎么說(shuō)的詞，就會(huì)來(lái)請(qǐng)教她。今天是怡茹要問(wèn)的：崩潰。

Jessica：Morning,怡茹! Oh.You don't look so well, are you sick?

YR: 生病倒沒(méi)有，就是精神快崩潰了。老板讓我做調(diào)研，一共需要1000多個(gè)樣品數(shù)據(jù)!我已經(jīng)做了兩個(gè)星期，頭昏腦脹，可還是沒(méi)做完!I am going crazy!

Jessica: Don't freak out yet. 怡茹，咱們一塊想想辦法!

YR: Wait a second.。。你說(shuō)，freak out?

Jessica: Freak is spelled f-r-e-a-k, freak; freak out就是崩潰的意思。

YR: OMG! That's totally me! I'm freaking out! 你說(shuō)想辦法，我已經(jīng)上網(wǎng)找，問(wèn)朋友，去圖書館查，都沒(méi)有現(xiàn)成的數(shù)據(jù)，完全要自己一點(diǎn)一點(diǎn)搜集! 我覺(jué)得我已經(jīng)走投無(wú)路了……

Jessica: Yeah... seems like you are at the end of your rope. This phrase basically means you are out of options. I'm so sorry怡茹!

YR: At the end of my rope? 真形象。繩子到頭了，沒(méi)有別的辦法。I'm so at the end of my rope! Jessica，你說(shuō)要是我無(wú)法按時(shí)完成任務(wù)，那可怎么辦呀!老板都催我兩次了，我現(xiàn)在感覺(jué)如履薄冰。

Jessica: Yeah, being on thin ice is definitely not the best feeling in the world。

YR: On thin ice就是中文里說(shuō)的如履薄冰吧?太形象了。

Jessica: You know what? I'm not worried about you. I think you can definitely finish the assignment on time!

YR: 真的嗎?好，那我加油，一定按時(shí)完成，做得漂漂亮亮的!

Jessica: That's the spirit!

YR: 第一，崩潰可以用to freak out;

第二，走投無(wú)路，無(wú)計(jì)可施是at the end of someone's rope;

第三，如履薄冰on thin ice。
