A statement from authorities late Saturday said the decision to shut Macao’s 42 casinos was approved by the city leader and agreed by gaming bosses.
有關(guān)部門上周六晚間發(fā)表聲明說,關(guān)閉澳門42家賭場的決定得到了澳門領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人的批準(zhǔn),并得到了博彩業(yè)老板的同意。
"The suspension of gaming operations is for the safety of casino employees, visitors to the city and residents," the local government statement said.
當(dāng)?shù)卣暶鞣Q:“暫停博彩運營是為了賭場員工、游客和居民的安全。”
Casino staff told AFP that venues would be shut until further notice as the city raised its second highest storm warning.
賭場工作人員告訴法新社,隨著該市發(fā)布第二大風(fēng)暴警報,場館將被關(guān)閉,直到收到下一步通知。
Macao’s weather bureau said the storm warning would be raised to the highest T10 level later Sunday with the worst rain and winds expected around midday local time (0400 GMT).
澳門氣象局表示,風(fēng)暴警報將于周日晚些時候升至T10的最高水平,預(yù)計當(dāng)?shù)貢r間中午(格林尼治時間凌晨4點)將迎來最嚴(yán)重的降雨和大風(fēng)天氣。
Shops and businesses were boarded up and protected by sandbags across the city and its streets, usually crowded with tourists, were deserted.

Last year the city was hit by typhoon Hato, the worst in over 50 years.
去年,這座城市遭遇了50多年來最嚴(yán)重的臺風(fēng)“Hato”。
