Kennedy Airport, which had come in at 16th place in2016, was knocked out of a list of the top 20 busiestairports in the world as passenger traffic increasedsubstantially in Asia, according to a report.

New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport brokeinto the top 20 last year, coming in at 16th place, according to the Airport Council Internationalrankings.

Hartsfield-Jackson retained its place atop the list.

It noted that Atlanta's airport, which saw 104 million passengers move through its terminals, iswithin a two-hour flight of 80 percent of the United States population.

The report said the world's major airports enjoyed "robust" growth in terms of travelers, withpassenger traffic growing by 5.2 percent in 2017.
