North Korea will send a hard-line military figure to the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in a move likely to rile many South Koreans and test Seoul’s flexibility with Pyongyang.

朝鮮將派一名強(qiáng)硬派的軍方人物出席冬奧會閉幕式，此舉可能激怒許多韓國人，并考驗(yàn)韓國應(yīng)對朝鮮動作的彈性。

Kim Yong-chol, the head of the ruling party's United Front Department, will arrive on Sunday for a three-day trip and is likely to meet South Korean President Moon Jae-in, officials in Seoul said.

韓國官員表示，朝鮮執(zhí)政黨統(tǒng)一戰(zhàn)線部(United Front Department)部長金永哲(Kim Yong-chol)將于周日抵達(dá)韓國，進(jìn)行為期三天的訪問，并可能會見韓國總統(tǒng)文在寅(Moon Jae-in)。

Mr Kim is believed to have masterminded numerous attacks on South Korea, including the sinking of the Cheonan military vessel, which killed 46 South Korean sailors in 2010.

The US, meanwhile, announced Ivanka Trump, the daughter of US President Donald Trump, would lead its delegation to the closing ceremony in South Korea's Pyeongchang county.
