美國對孟加拉國美使館雇員被殺事件提出譴責

　　U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has condemnedthe murder of Bangladeshi gay rights activist XulhazMannan, who was an employee of the U.S. embassyin Dhaka.

　　美國國務卿克里對孟加拉國同性戀權(quán)益活動人士曼南被謀殺一事提出譴責。曼南是美國駐達卡大使館的雇員。

　　Kerry said in a statement late Monday: "We areprofoundly saddened by the loss of one of our own insuch a senseless act of violence." He also saidXulhaz "embodied the spirit of the people ofBangladesh and the pride with which they guard their traditions of tolerance, peace, anddiversity."

　　克里星期一晚間發(fā)表聲明說，“我們對自己中的一員死于如此愚蠢的暴力而深感悲痛”。克里還說，曼南體現(xiàn)了孟加拉國人民的精神以及他們維護容忍、和平與多元化之傳統(tǒng)的驕傲。

　　Xulhaz and a companion were hacked to death by unidentified attackers on Monday.

　　曼南和一名同伴星期一被身份不明的襲擊者砍死。

　　A USAID official, Mannan, was at his home with his friend, Tanay Mojumdar, when five attackersarrived, disguised as couriers and pounced on them with machetes.

　　曼南是美國國際發(fā)展署雇員，他和朋友莫朱姆達爾當時正在他的住所，被5名冒充送貨人的襲擊者用砍刀殺害。

　　A security guard and a police officer- who tried to catch the assailants - were wounded inmachete attacks.
