Drawing Strength from Party History
South
Issue 6, 2021
This year marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, stressed that it is the right time to carry out a Party-wide campaign on Party history learning and education. All Party members should understand the CPCs history, master its theories, do practical work, and make new advances, said Xi, calling for contributions to building China into a modern socialist country.
By learning the history, Party members will be able to draw wisdom from the past struggles and be better equipped to solve current problems. Party history learning and education is necessary to promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, develop the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and maintain the vigor of the Party through selfreform.
The goal of this campaign is to delve into the law of history, gain strength of truth, and extend the Partys endeavors into the future as committed followers of Marxism.
Chinas Foreign Trade Bucks the Declining Trend
Lifeweek
Issue 12, 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic dealt a heavy blow to global trade. Contrary to a widespread worrying mood, Chinas foreign trade has achieved unexpected growth, and gained strong momentum in going digital.
More and more Chinese products available on global business-tobusiness platforms or international retailing e-commerce platforms are the results of innovation. A close look leads to the discovery that many bestselling products on international platforms are Chinese homegrown brands.
The pandemic led to a sharp increase in overseas orders. However, not all companies can deal with the growth. Only with strong production capacity, effective supply chains, and efficient international logistics capability, can a company transform overseas demands into business earnings. Going digital doesnt mean simply shifting to a new distribution channel. It is about harnessing the technology and going global.
Instead of settling on the low end of the global industrial chain, Chinese export-oriented manufacturers are striving to define the products of the next generation and create brands with global recognition.

Issue 6, 2021
On February 25, the National Administration for Rural Revitalization was formally inaugurated in Beijing, replacing the 34-year-old former State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development.
The inauguration of the new administration symbolizes the countrys victory in fighting poverty.
Although the fight against absolute poverty has ended, supportive measures for rural residents continue. In this years No. 1 central document, China pledged to set up a five-year transition period when targeted assistance will be kept for those having newly risen above poverty. Follow-up policies will also be put in place to prevent rural population from relapsing into poverty.
Tang Zhong, president of School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development of Renmin University of China, said that claiming a victory doesnt mean there is no impoverished population. During the transition period, those whose living standards fall under the poverty threshold will receive timely and customized help. Low-income groups will remain the focus of government support as the country pushes for rural vitalization.
