這段經(jīng)歷很短暫，卻充滿(mǎn)了正能量

去年

I was able to do a nice thing for some community members.

我為社區(qū)里的小伙伴做了一點(diǎn)力所能及的好事

I was homeless

我是一個(gè)無(wú)家可歸的流浪漢

and made a poor living by flipping polar fleece

靠變賣(mài)搖粒絨的廉價(jià)衣物過(guò)活。

Essentially,

可想而知

shipping costs would have killed any margin

銷(xiāo)往外地的運(yùn)輸費(fèi)用會(huì)把我的理論扣光

and local wasn't working.

而本地又沒(méi)有任何銷(xiāo)售渠道

So I took the downtime I had at a night job

于是，我趁著晚間工作時(shí)的休息時(shí)間

and made double fleece no sew tie blankets

做了雙層的無(wú)縫羊毛毯

and handed them out to fellow homeless people

把它們分發(fā)給了其他的流浪漢

after shift one morning

那是一天早上，我下班之后

at a food pantry

在一個(gè)食品分發(fā)食堂里

when the frosts were hitting.

天上正下著冰雹

It was a brief experience but positive.

這段經(jīng)歷很短暫，卻充滿(mǎn)了正能量

I made about two dozens people's mornings with a clean new blanket

我讓二三十人能夠披著干凈的新毯子度過(guò)他們的早晨

while waiting in the cold.

那時(shí)他們正站在冷風(fēng)中

Yesterday,

昨天

around a year later

那件事過(guò)去大約一年后

I saw a homeless person walking down the street

我看到一個(gè)流浪漢走過(guò)街道

with one of those blankets.

身上還披著那時(shí)我做的毯子

The fabric choice,

質(zhì)地精良

my poor technique,

手藝粗糙

all of it.

正是出自我手

I'm sure I've never seen this person before

我確信自己從未見(jiàn)過(guò)此人

so that blanket went on a journey

那條毯子必是幾經(jīng)轉(zhuǎn)手，經(jīng)過(guò)了一趟旅程

and is still providing comfort to someone.

但仍為人們提供著溫暖

I'm not homeless anymore,

如今我不再無(wú)家可歸

but times are hard,

但世事艱辛

and seeing that really brightened my day.

那樣的場(chǎng)景，讓我的一整天都明亮起來(lái)

I just wish I had some more fleece now.
