Useful Ways to Organize a Tiny Kitchen
Even if you have a huge kitchen you still have to make the most of the space you have. This video, from Brothers Green Eats, is full of ways to fit everything you need to cook into a tiny space—even one as small as their tiny galley-style kitchen.
The video is a bit long, but some of the tips range from the simple, like stack up, not out, because you’ll probably have more vertical space you can use than floor space to expand into, to the more complicated, like using glass jars to store your spices and cooking ingredients—not because it’s trendy heaven to have a shelf of Ball jars, but because they’re reusable, clear so you can see what’s inside, seal tight enough to keep items fresh, and don’t look terrible on open shelving you can put up easily.
They also suggest a hanging pot rack, mostly so you can reach your pots and pans easily without having to fumble through a drawer to get the ones you want, or make a ton of noise in the process. They heartily endorse (and so do we) a magnetic knife rack and some simple IKEA hooks for utensils, which frees up drawer space and still keeps your most often-used cooking tools close at hand.
