1　much 意為“非常，很”，用于修飾形容詞或副詞的比較級和最高級，位于定冠詞之前。much 也可修飾動詞。

We are much happier now. 我們現(xiàn)在快樂多了。

You should pay much more attention to your lessons. 你應該更加注意你的功課。

I don't much like her. 我不十分喜歡她。

Jim is much the brightest student in the class. 吉姆絕對是班上最聰明的學生。

2　quite 意為“十分，完全，相當，還算”，用于修飾動詞或形容詞原級。

I quite agree with you. 我完全贊同你的看法。

Are you quite sure? 你完全肯定嗎？

He has quite the same ideas. 他有完全相同的看法。

She is quite a good teacher. 她是相當不錯的老師 。

She is a quite good teacher.

3　very 意為“十分，非?！保揎椥稳菰~或副詞原級，不可單獨修飾動詞，但very much 可修飾動詞。

It is very useful. 這很有用。

He ran very fast. 他跑得非?？臁?/p>

She saw a very exciting scene. 她看到一個非常激動人心的場面。

I was very much surprised at the news. 我聽到這個消息十分吃驚。
