1　expensive 意為“昂貴的，價高的”，指物品等的價格高昂，花錢多。

That's a very expensive camera. 那臺相機非常貴。

The house is so expensive that we can't buy it. 這棟房子很貴，我們買不起。

2　dear 意為“貴的”，指要價超過正常或公平合理的價格，為英國用法。

I didn't buy the dictionary because it was too dear . 我沒買那部詞典，因為價格太貴。

Eggs are very dear this month. 這個月雞蛋太貴。

The price is too dear . （誤）

The price is too high . （正）價格太貴了 。
