This is the answer of our balance. How do you think about it?
Maybe we can compromise on this.

A:Do you provide a warranty with the product?
B:We don't provide any specific warranty.
A:In that case, we may have to include a penalty clause to cover the cost of any repairs.
B:I'm sorry. I cannot afford to sign a contract with such a penalty clause.
A:Mr. Brown, perhaps I can ask my company to reduce the terms of the penalty clause. How about the rest of the contract?
B:We accept in principle but we will make our decision after you've received more information from your company.
A:So, you will agree to sign after I hear from my company.
B:Yes, I think so.

A:We have to discuss about payment in the contract.
B:Do you have any comment on this clause?
A:Yes, I think the expenses of shipment should be paid by you.
B:What? Are you kidding? The expenses should be paid by purchaser. That's international practice. We can't break it.
A:But your price of the goods is too high. If you won't decline the price of products, you should pay the expenses of shipment.
B:Your view does not have a leg to stand on. We can't agree with the alterations and amendments to the contract.
A:We'd like you to consider our request once again. Or we'll be difficult to conclude the transaction.
B:OK. We will cut down the price by 2%.
A:That's great. Thank you.

not have a leg to stand on(論點(diǎn)或案例等)站不住腳
Not have a leg to stand on字面意思是“沒有一條腿可以站立”,后被引申為“(論點(diǎn)或案例等)站不住腳”的意思。 You may think you're right, but you don't have a leg to stand on.(你可能認(rèn)為自己有理,但你的說法是站不住腳的。)
其變體形式是without a let to stand on.
