問候語“你吃了嗎?”是一種寒暄，

不是真的要問你吃飯了沒有。

In China, this is used as a greeting.

It’s not really a question.

氣 候 Climate

The climate is different in China.

青島的夏天比起英國更潮濕;冬天更干燥。

In the summer, Qingdao is very humid compared with my hometown.

In the winter, it’s very dry.

上海和香港也非常悶熱和潮濕。

Shanghai and Hong Kong are very hot and humid cities.

在青島，冬天會感覺到有靜電。(在英國，夏天會感覺有靜電。)

In the winter, I sometimes experience static shock.

有人說在英國，一天可以感受一年四季的變化。

Some people say that when living in the UK it’s possible to experience 4 seasons in a single day.

過馬路Crossing the road

對于Peter老師來說，剛來中國的時候，過馬路是遇到的最大的困難。

Crossing the road was very difficult for me at the beginning.

In the UK we are taught to look right, left, right.

飲食文化Food Culture

在中國，飲食文化是一種社交文化。

The food culture is different.

In China, eating out is a social experience.

如果你邀請別人出去吃飯，你買單。

If you invite someone out for dinner, you should pay.

家 庭Family

中國的家庭成員之間更加緊密，彼此會犧牲更多。

Chinese families are tighter and closer, they sacrifice more.

在西方國家，孩子們會較早地離開父母獨立生活，父母住在養(yǎng)老院(但并不是唯一或第一的選擇)。In western countries, children fly the nest earlier and the parents live in care homes.
