35　冠詞的用法　Track29

（1）第一次提到的單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞前面用不定冠詞a或an，這一名詞再次出現(xiàn)則要用定冠詞the。

a. A man came up to a policeman and asked him a question. The policeman didn't understand the question, so he asked the man to repeat it.

b. I had a banana and an apple. I ate the banana and gave the apple to Clint.

（2）在談到說(shuō)話人和聽(tīng)話人雙方都知道的事物時(shí)，要用the。比如在自己家的房間里，我們要說(shuō)the light, the floor, the door, the window, the carpet。

a. Can you turn off the light, please?　(=the light in our room)

b. Shut the door, please!?。?tīng)話的人知道指的是哪扇門，比如是臥室的門。）

c. How do you like the film?　你覺(jué)得這部電影怎么樣？

d. A: Do you need the car today, honey?

B: Yes. I have a lot of things to do. Why don't I drive you to work today?

A: OK. But be sure to f ill the car up with gas.

A：親愛(ài)的，今天你用車嗎？

B：用，我有很多事要做。我送你去上班怎么樣？

A：好的，記得把車加滿油。

（3）表示世界上獨(dú)一無(wú)二的事物。

the earth　the sky　the equator　the moon　the world　the universe

（4）形容詞或副詞最高級(jí)、序數(shù)詞以及only用作形容詞與名詞連用時(shí)，它們前面一般要用the。

the only/best way to cope with the problem

唯一的/最好的解決這個(gè)問(wèn)題的方法

This is the first time I've come to Beijing.

（5）在樂(lè)器、樂(lè)團(tuán)、合唱團(tuán)及流行音樂(lè)團(tuán)體前加the。

the Beatles　甲殼蟲樂(lè)隊(duì)

the Philadelphia Orchestra　費(fèi)城管弦樂(lè)隊(duì)

play/learn the guitar　彈吉他

learn the piano　學(xué)彈鋼琴

注意：運(yùn)動(dòng)項(xiàng)目前不用the。如play chess，play football/basketball/table tennis。
