詞組講解

1. go to one's head ** 使某人有醉意;沖昏頭腦

解 習(xí)語;詞義溯源:進入某人的[頭腦、智力(head)]

例 We need to do something to bring Wu Jin back to reality. After he won the speaking contest, he got a swelled head and as a result he's not putting as much effort into his homework. If I had known he'd let it go to his head, I would have given the award to another student.

2. go to pot / go to the dogs ** 被損壞;墮落;徹底落魄,破產(chǎn)

解 〈口〉習(xí)語;詞義溯源:成為[罐、鍋(pot)或狗,引申為沒用的人(dogs)]
