1. whom, whose指人，whom是who的賓格，whose是所有格，分別在從句中作賓語和定語。

The man who is reading over there is our class teacher.（作主語）

在那邊讀書的那個人是我們的班主任。

The person whom you saw just now is our new headmaster.（作賓語）

你剛才見到的那個人是我們的新校長。

Do you know the man whose i-Phone 5 was stolen this morning?（作定語）

你認(rèn)識那個他的i-Phone 5今天早上被盜的人嗎？

2. whom在非正式文體中可省略，也可由that或who代替。

The teacher (whom/who/that) you were just talking to now teaches us English.

你剛才與其談話的那個老師現(xiàn)在教我們英語。

3. whose是who和which的所有格，既可指人，也可指物或動物。

The classroom whose windows are round is ours.

窗戶是圓的那個教室是我們的。

The camel whose right eye isn't bright is lost.

右眼不亮的那頭駱駝丟了。

4. 當(dāng)whose用來指物時，whose=the+名詞+of which/of which + the +名詞：

The book whose cover/the cover of which/of which the cover is new is mine.

封面很新的那本書是我的。

5. 當(dāng)whose用來指人時，whose=the+名詞+of whom/of whom + the +名詞

The boy whose eyes/the eyes of whom/of whom the eyes are big is our monitor.

大眼睛的那個男孩兒是我們班長。
